Alexandre Apartments:

The Lowes Warehouse at 510 Washington was designed architect Thomas W. Lamb. Constructed in 1920, this 7 story reinforced concrete building once stored costumes and props for Buffalo’d Loews Theater.

The programed included residential and ground floor commercial development. The client's intended to use historic tax credits, and wanted a penthouse addition to provide leasable space to make the project financially feasible.

The building floor plate is small only 33’ x 90’, however at more than 90’ tall code requirements  included a second egress stair and fire control.

Stair B.

The final design for stair B, winds its way from the the penthouse to the ground floor. It will require minimal concrete deck and joist removal of the each floor plate, and was located as not to “waste” the tenant's’ light access.
